The J behind the Phoenix
The music I write comes from everywhere. It’s not even always welcome, but a compulsion, an itch begging to be scratched, and I find myself up at 3 am because I can’t get the damn thing out of my head.

I draw inspiration from many different artists, from Daniel Jones to Lady Gaga, Ramin Djawadi to Camille Saint-Saens. Through my music I hope to give people joy, help them to voice the emotions they can’t, and give them a good, old-fashioned banger to play on a Saturday night.

I co-wrote the musical Crash Landing with Kate Adams, a zany little show about an alien finding her way on Earth. Most recently I have acted as Musical Director for the UniSA Production of Just Desserts. I am currently working on my next full-length musical, Snowflame.
